BOF Rankings Faux Pas

Just checked my rankings for SINS. As I'd had a good run on 2/3 days I thought my points would improve. I found a really good score for day 2 but not for my best day, so I looked at the calculations. What did I find when I clicked on Day 1 Gowbarrow 17th June 2005. Errr have BOF been on Mrs H's cruched diamond juice, if they can post rankings for an event next Friday

Surprise surprise day 3 also comes up with Gowbarrow

All 3 days are Gowbarrow - apart from the fact that these are definitely not SinS - how can there be a full set of results for an event which hasn't even happened yet?

No day two is SINS I got over 1000 ranking points my best score. I've never been to Gowbarrow and don't even know where it is

There is an area called Gowbarrow near Ullswater, which is a BoderLiners area. Can't think that there has been an event there for a while, at least two years!

Results for events are posted by event organisers, so any mistakes aren't necessarily attributable to BOF!

Day 2 is correct but days 1 & 3 are not.

There's a news item on the BOF web page now saying they know about it and they're trying to sort it out asap!

What's even better is that the M21L rankings include the voided JK day 1 course.

Duh.

On the other hand, does it really matter - most people know the rankings are at best a numbers game.

By the way, it may be a mistake, a blunder, a cock up, a clanger etc. It's not a faux pas ("a social blunder"/"a socially awkward or tactless act" [source:dictionary.com]). Or is there some kind of social gathering which revolves around the BOF ranking lists?

What's even better is that the M21L rankings include the voided JK day 1 course.

And there are still no M21L/W21L ranking points for the non-mass start classes at the TVOC National event on 13th March.

I recognise those results - I won M21 (hooray!) and they are from the Gowbarrow event in September 2000.
