There's no way it would have been 7-0 had it been a match which could alter league positions.

And maybe a cynic would say that Everton were thanking Arsenal for stopping Liverpool being able to catch them 3 days earlier.

If I was a Liverpool fan I would start coming up with excuses like 'We don't play well on Wednesdays' or 'We lost because we had two people involved who had ginger hair' but at the end of the day we were rubbish (and Arsenal were fantastic).

if Everton lose at Bolton on Sunday they will qualify for the Champions League with a negative goal difference - perhaps they were just doing it for a laugh
