Just a thought as I was reading with envy about the [nope] trophy. For those of us who arn't 21 and don't live in Edinburgh what about a members' trophy comp piggy backed onto some other comp like the British or JK. If registered members declared they wanted to compete (fun thing only) then someone clever like Trebor could filter out the results on some basis or other and work out winners in various catagories. I rather fancy my chances in the veteran ladies class - provided Steller doesn't turn out to be Stella Lewsley and Helen Palmer's mum doesn't sign in :wink:

Might boost membership when word gets out (make sure short courses are admissable tho' :shock:

) anyone think this could be fun? I'd start a poll but my technical adviser is at school :roll:

thanks Drew - I was just thinking about it some more while I was cleaning the loo. I would certainly get Mr H. and all the little Hs to register and put it in my legendary newsletter urging Harlequins to sign up. m must have some influence with the Jk committee - she already said her club were organising the prize giving - if she can't charm them into some form of co-operation we could always take her hostage - you know - send her pink t shirt back all cut to pieces :twisted:

i could try getting it into the jk prize giving. i think if we bug people enough then they will let us do something.

ha ha there are a few people who want a pink tee shirt, maybe there will be some with the next designs??

howsabout we have a competition based on the run-in at BOC and JK and anything else we fancy? a one off? or make it cumulative?

you could have both, like a league and random spot prizes, disqualfications ought to be handed out to those sitting at the last control for half an hour to recover though!!!

i'd ignore boc as it's a nonsense fragmented competition this year. jk is where its at. run in's are also where its at but maybe in some sort of combined age class system: 4 classes: women and men, under 40 and over 40. good interclass competition. in fact maybe ignore sexual discrimination as well?

As long as there is one finish control at the JK there could be individual prizes for each day, and then a combined winner, if everyone puts a squid or 2 into a big cup, then winner takes all? or some? or most? whatever...

Age classes could be somthing like...
Junior Girls
Junior Boys (U-21)
Senior Men
Senior Women (21-44)
Veteran Men
Veteran Women (44+)

Glad to see this has got you all fired up - The only thing I could think of was something along the line of the ranking points - but of course there's no juniors in that. If it's run ins then Hocolite has me beat - she's faster on the sprint (unless it's a long run in that is) :wink:
