I was there today and was of the thinking that the live results and radio controls were working, but the commentary stream certainly wasn't. Maybe it was initially confined to the wireless network in the arena, as Nick B got the radio results on his PDA before the commentary team had mentioned them...
surely they would have tested all of these systems beforehand?

The system is actually very simple. In the arena we have an internet server. On this we stream audio, live updates from the radio controls and results pages update approx every 2 minutes.

But it doesn't work.......... as a punter I couldn't give a s***e for the excuseses....
But GB has at least a couple of days to prove its AT LEAST AN EQUAL TO THE BEST...........................
And don't mention money as a reason as I believe that they were given £100000 to 'enhance' the event...................

Well, if you'd have been bothered to turn up to spectate you'd be having a wonderful time. It's out of their control, deal with it.
Edit: I know some of you have exams, yeah that sucks. But Jon is trying his best.

And some of us have jobs to do, don't live in the south of England where most elite races seem to be happening this year, can't afford (money and time) to travel down but still want to know what is happening. Certainly not that 'I can't be bothered' as you put it. I hope attitudes like that are not at the BOF council meetings.....
Have to agree with Gross - need to get this sorted - how many people round the orienteering world are looking for the 'live' coverage and laughing at us??
Wasn't there talk of GPS tracking at one point as well - no signs so far.

Not only exams but for example with me - parents Golden Wedding.
And as I said all the pre event hype was to deliver this top class technology.... it,s not been delivered yet? Has it?

When I tried the live site yesterday morning (at around 7am) it was very slow. Trying it now it is even slower. So it looks like the internet web server is also underpowered for the job it is being asked to do...
