On the Splitsbrowser website it says 'Event organisers can upload results for display on the Splitsbrowser web site from both SportIdent and Emit electronic punching systems.'
Looking at the info it is a fairly simple format that is required (the csv format they ask for) to be able to submit results.

apart from the last control where I had to go back and repunch as it didnt work first time which lost me a place.

If you had the back up card in place & if you fully inserted the emit brikke into the unit... you'd have an automatic back up... no need to go back:)

Yup it was well good, I'm glad Mark got in between us Rhys, or it would have been a who can get the stupidly shaped EMIT card in the base first...now that would have been interesting.
Ah glory glory glory....It feels good, havent won anything for aaaaaaages and aaaaages... felt good to be in the leading pack all the was round, well good for head to head!!! (please more mass starts- as it did exactly what it said on the tin - Head to Head racing all the way round!)

Dont know if the butterfly worked, maybe two would have been better...?

Mass starts definitely give an advantage to some runners who would not normally be near the top cos their O is not spot on. They only have to keep in touch and follow into controls. Thebutterflies didn't seem to stop this. Not saying it affected the leaders on M20/21 but it certainly showed lower down the races.

i see your point, "guest", but I think the whole point was to make the sport feel sexy again, and the inclusion of middle distance and mass start races did that.
The mass starts' aim, i'm guessing, was to get everyone in with a chance to win, even those who have a 'lower' orienteering ability. It just gave a new head to head orienteering race feel.

I reckon that the edge was still with those who could both orienteer and run at the same time.
