there was a bit of a re-shuffle of positions on the run-in as there were two last controls very close together. on m18 john rocke got to the finish and realised he'd got the wrong one, and had to run back, which lost him the lead. in the end, dave beat joe by one second!

Ok this is just what i was told by a reliable source including the angry swede bit.

I was glad, later in the day, to have seen the mass start people mess around with those two controls. If I had not then I probably would have ended up going to the wrong control on my run.

A few of the competitors had problems getting over the fence, into the field, for the spectator controls

We had to run straight up that at the start of our race! Hambledon isn't horrible. Its just hilly... maybe it it is horrible.

Enjoyed run, although got left behind rel. early on. Made a couple of silly mistakes which were amplified into large time wasters by an inability (or unwillingness?) to take the time to relocate carefully. I'm knackered.

n this was def my problem as well....every1 jus runs to fast...all the 18s jus sprinted off to number 1 and i cant keep up..not cos of fitness at that point...jus cos my little legs just wernt long enough?

It will be really interesting to see the race graphs and see how the places changed. I really enjoyed the event though - I've not really done that sort of race before. The emit was also a first and I got on well with it- apart from the last control where I had to go back and repunch as it didnt work first time which lost me a place.
