I reccommend some kind of headset device. Plantronics do reasonable ones for under £15 at PC World.

aye its a piece of piss to set up. plug in the mic and speakers,, download skype, add some friends like msn and then call a contact.

its like msn with nae typin.

it really is pretty damn good quality sound too, as long as your on broadband. its better quality sound than my mobile, even on my laptop speakers and built in mic.

and you will be joining a cast of luminaries such as lord fred, broon, pyrat, peter g, bj, asian, (lord) marty "mcfly" hutton-ivarsson and yours trully.

I may well take the plunge then in that case - seeing as I have to perch on the edge of my desk and lean against the window to get mobile reception anyways!

dont get a headset.. just spend the same amount on a microphone and use your desktop / laptop speakers.

Basically it means you can wander around your room while on skype and are not tied to your computer with a weird helicopter type device strapped to your head.
