Fantastic At Orienteering?

I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

Good route choice meant you could miss the worst of the brambles anyway. The map had been recently amended for the event to indicate the worst areas to be avoided.
Biggest problem was overshooting with my pace counting ......until I remembered it was a 1:7500 scale map

Simple, looked at the direct route and decided thre was too much green hatching on the map - though was very tempted to try to pick a route through the whiter bits.
I went along the big track to the south of control 4, until I got to the dark green area (Crescent shaped), went around the outside of that then straight up the re-entrant to the control. Most of the reentrant was leaf covered with just a few low level brambles to step over. Guess this was probably one of the longer options but did mean you could get some speed up down the track (for those that could run that is) rather than stumble slowly through grot.
