Watched Flash Gordon on Sky SciFi last night - just got to be one of the greatest films ever made, fabtastically camp, glorious Queen sound track, very faithful to comic book origins, Ah! they don't make them like that any more

too right, does anybody (looking toward the older generation here) remember a flash gordon tv series??? i could be making this up but i spent a whole summer when i was younger getting up early to watch it! it was amazing!

That was probably the 1930's film series, designed to be shown at matinees.

Will never forget the fizzling smoking rockets... Magic stuff!

there was a cartoon series that was on when i was young, definetley. phantom series was well i after that

In the credits it says filmed on location in Scotland which had me a little confused for a while
Then I discovered that for some reason they filmed the bit where flash and the girl get into the small plane right at the beginning at the airstrip on Skye of all places, strange or what
