They have been living in england since JEC in England in October au-pairing with orienteering families. They live in the AIRE and SLOW areas and are club members, dont see any problem in them running

I didn't mean to sound they shouldn't run. I was just interested.. since I hadn't seen the names before and typing them into google came up with their profiles as Swiss Junior Team members.
Cheers,

I think the whole thing was a total triumph - well done Walton Chasers for making it a really fun occasion and well done OD for pulling victory out of the bag. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and i saw the light go on in the eyes of a few of our newer members as they were cheered in up the run in - I reckon they'll be back for more of that! (HOC are still definitely the noisiest club around).
Nice to see BOF have recognised this great occasion by totally ignoring it on their news page so far - prefering to spot light Haglofs' Special Christmas offer to members .

Bearing in mind, of course, that without substantial input of BOF money and professional time over the past years, the Yvette Baker Trophy would not exist at all.
Anyway, have sent BOF office a news item to put up, so hopefully that side of things will get corrected in the not too distant future.

The money is ours - don't make it sound like BOF are being generous by letting us have the use of some of it - and the professional time is paid for by us as well!

It depends what you mean by "ours". If you mean taxpayers' money, then yes, I'd agree - but then that is not 'ours', not once it's in the government's hands. If you mean money paid for by members through membership or levy, then no, it isn't. The time was paid for by Sport England, and the money was sourced from them.
And the fact of the matter is that the YBT still probably wouldn't exist today if it hadn't been driven forward by BOF.

The YBT is exactly what they should be spending their money on ( oh incidentally I thought BOF was Us and Ours not Them and Theirs - or does that not apply when it comes to handing out the money) Of course I mean tax payers' money and lottery money as well as subs and levies. God knows they get enough from me and my family, I'd like to know where some of it goes - I certainly wasn't allowed to have any when I asked for some to provide a bus for unattached juniors to go to the JK (probably had none left after the squad inaugural weekend
).
They still havn't got your YBT report up AWK - funny they were so quick on the draw with the Derek Allison Award story they broke the embargo (They'll be losing some of that government funding if they do that too often - it serious stuff).

Of course the YBT is exactly what BOF should be spending money on. My point was simply that this showed that YBT was not the low priority affair you made it out to be, an argument based solely on the fact that an article hadn't been sent in to the office. Actually, it was good to see both BOF's development officers at the event yesterday, and the prizes being presented by one of the regional officers (with another one there managing her club team). Whether they were in a voluntary or professional capacity doesn't really bother me - they were there, and even those who were there volunatrily seemed to be getting work done!
I'm not really surprised that my article hasn't been published yet. It was sent at around five to five tonght.
By the way, typing this is a nightmare It was bad enough that Nopesport screens were black on dark grey, they are now black on black!!!!! Think a contribution on the Bugs thread is needed!

there you go again making it sound like we should be impressed - this is what should be happening and i'd have been very un-impressed if it wasn't - lots of us were there and getting work done - even i was collecting in trophies for next week and booking fab musical acts for the JK Banter evening

I say AWK - do you not think samsonite is trying to tell you something by making it difficult for you to post - it isn't happening to me, Ha ha ha

(article still not up - you'd have thought with all those development officers there, one of them might have been able to string a paragraph together for Monday morning
