Listed below is the most recent version of the gold badge list for the YBT finalists. It's up to the end of October, so is yet to include the CLOK National Event and two small northern badge events, which will be processed tomorrow night; I'll post any updates here. This has been forwarded to the organiser and to the co-ordinator, and should then be forwarded to team managers.
There may be the odd uni student missing who hasn't run for their home club in the past year or so - if so, please let me know and I will check the list, but with almost 500 current junior gold badge holders, I didn't really want to publish the whole list here!

oh sh!t is all i can say, means a few people in our team have been entered on the wrong course cos they didnt actually know theyd got a 'gold'/'age class' standard. the organiser's not going to like me very much when i tell him.

The organiser is fully aware of the fact that classes may need changing: the list has been sent to him so he can check eligibility. The info sent out with the entries said that entries could be changed after the date, so I don't think he will bite your head off.
I'd be a bit surprised if there were more than 1 or 2 affected - most of the HOC gold standards had well more than the minimum 3.

Re Carol's comment I'm pretty sure she is referring to Tom Mckenzie and Rosey, and Possibly Matt Evans. Certainly Rosey has not been doing well and despite one gold when she was the only competitor we did'nt think she had gold. I suspect there will be a few surprises in other clubs too, and your list also confirms the necessitity for it, as there are definitely some who ran wrong course in qualifiers.

I may not be right here but I believe the organisers have placed a restriction of 6 per class on teams. If this applies to the Green course, there are clubs like NOC who have 6 men with JM5 plus a number of eligible women, do they have to be selective? I know some may be away at Uni but it could be a bit devisive when you have to select form a group who have achieved this standard.

Jo Jess And Nadine surely have JW5 not JW4

Yeh, I presume so too! We've all been entered for the green anyway, but we were wanting to confirm that Nadine did have JW5 gold standard.

congrats and huge thanks to Andy for getting list together. How many nights in front of computer did that add up to? Also congrats to all those who've got gold, and clubs that have got such a depth of juniors through to this standard!
Was told at Lakeside by another club that the max of 24 per club has been relaxed (not sure how). So may still be room to not only rejig teams, but also invite extra juniors. Anyone got confirmation of that?
Looking forward to great competition!

The entry instructions sent out to team managers say...
You will see your club has been allocated 6 or 7 start times for each course, but you may, if you have more runners who meet the entry qualifications, enter more.
Hope that helps!

One problem in sorting out badge qualifications must have been the failure of some clubs to post badge times on their website results pages, confining them only to the printed versions, which these days not many people opt for.
A case in point was a recent southern regional event , which only put badge times in their printed results, and only the senior ones at that. Eventually, after getting no joy from the host club, a member of another club, badgered by his daughter, who wanted to know how she'd done, worked the times out himself and forwarded them to the organising club, where they now appear on the website.

I know one problem (probably amongst many) AWK had was that the majority of publicised badge times were incorrect and he had to recalculate alot of them.
I have also heard from the entries organiser that most team captains are anticipating having to make team changes when they see the final list.
I guess it wasn't just Chasers who unwittingly entered juniors on the wrong courses in the qualifiers. Hopefully no teams have missed out on a justified place in the final because of the confsion.
At least we now have a definitive list to go by, so everyone starts off from the same point and hopefully there won't be the personal arguments after the final.

Sorry Nadine, Jess, Jo. That was a typing mistake - you're right Hocolite, it should have read JW5.
Yes, Stef, you both are JW5 (of course) - I had you down as BAOC on the spreadsheet, and when it sorted it left you out (I thought the Sarum gold list looked thinner than I expected on the women).
Looking at results, Stodgetta, I'm fairly certain that no team missed out on the final due to the lack of list. Phew!
Jene: is it just Welsh clubs you want, or does it extend further? I can send you those if you want. I'm working to finalise global list in the next week or so, but it won't be before YBT final.
Kedge - as Stodgetta said, I tended to ignore published badge times (except the Napier system, which I know was accurate), and recalculate.
