Tough Guy Race
Someone at work was asking me about this event as a friend of theirs is thinking of entering the race in January. I've read the bumff on the website but has anyone out there tried it before and is it really like they say on the website (http://www.toughguy.co.uk/home.asp)?

I’ve never done it, however I do know from people who have done it that it is
Normally cold
Very wet
Very muddy
Lots of obstacles - of varying interest
Lots of people get near hypothermic
Unless you get a good start its a bit of a precession and you end up queuing for obstacles.
Oh and its near Wolverhampton

If Ben Fogul can get round it... Actually, he's probably pretty fit. Don't think jumping into icy lake sounds too appealing.

Aha, so me old mucker Jakob has been and done it.... and won it to boot. Can't be that hard then 'cause I almost beat him twice this summer (Aye, right). I see that competitors have to wear camouflage clothing this year. Would a camouflage o-suit (a daytime variant of Jarkko Houvila's black outfit for the 10-mila) be allowed I wonder?..

Angela Mudge did it, and finished 44th I think. She didn't enjoy it, but was about 10th after the XC run, losing out to the men on the assult course due to lack of upper body strength. She said that you had to break the ice on the streams, before hopping in!

Does anybody how deep the streams/lake are? i.e do you need to be able to swim?
