You won't close the gap if you don't put the effort in & you won't put the effort in if you don't find the time. It's about priorities - if you are serious about closing the gap then you devote some of the time used for something else to training. No pain, no gain.... you only get out what you put in.... etc etc
Seriously though, I understand what you're saying Gross. But the fundamental difference with SEDS is that it's people who've been through the system and are now into it for the organisation who are the driving force behind running it. It's also an extra support network of coaches with some structure that English athletes don't have - sure we can ask around and get piecemeal advice from all and sundry, which is how I work at the moment, but it's far from ideal. I could easily devote the time to extra training - I've already sacrificed a lot this year - but I can't justify time spent doing more admin and tail chasing than I already do with Outreach and race organisation in face of my degree. It is about priorities - it's just there's very little space left in my personal calendar.
