surely a vegan lasagne is just a veggie one, which are veru nice. corgette, peppars, mushrooms, onions, in a tomato sauce, with bistoa sauce and pasta sheets and then fake cheese sauce on top

I think its fine to eat meat in principle. (I do!) However, there are strong arguments about many modern farming practices. Aside from the meat theme, Fairtrade is another issue worth thinking about.

Modern farming practices? More like consumers trying to have their cake and eat it to. Modern farming methods are what they are because consumers constant demand for cheaper food.
Big PLC's don't help either, but that's a different story.

I am a vegeterian, simply because a little knowledge of energy transfer says it is grossly inefficient and therefore more sensible to eat the plant than feed the plants to animals and eat the animal. Plus animal rearing in the intensive way it is done nowadays is damaging to the environment in soooo many other ways, pollution, overgrazing, tree felling. Feelings for animals never really came into it
