Gutted...
He did not just form most of my musical education but was a fellow Meadowbank Thistle fan and got to quite a few games. The roadshow was always timed to visit Edinburgh venues when Thistle were at home...
Only source of most of the music I wanted to listen to on the radio. He will be missed
Cheers Peely.

A true prince amongst modern marketing theives. True to the music and not the money.
Jeez, the first presenter I actually feel sad about going. He was like your grandad, but with music taste.
I am absolutely gutted.

Now, I know you're a feminist, and I think that's adorable, but this is grown-up time and I'm the man.

Lamacq's doing something on Radio 1 at 11. That's in addition to the Front Row special R4 did. And 6music have been doing stuff all afternoon. And I guess Radcliffe'll probably do something on 2.
Still hasn't quite sunk in yet. Can't believe he's gone.

It's a magical world. Let's go exploring.

really touching last night with a minutes silence followed by a huge round of applause for John Peel last night, halfway through the magnetic fields concert. a fitting way to pay tribute for a man for whom it was so much about the music.

Another idea for a tribute that Lamacq's just mentioned.
Instead of a minutes silence, at noon tomorrow, find a suitable record and turn the volume up to 11 for a minute's noise.
