Hanne Staff and Yvette. And more recently the legend that is Dainora Alsauskaite, especially after her antics at the public control yesterday!!
For sprint runners I would pick Kvaal and Måre B Bostrom. It's cool to see people our age up on the podium in EOC & WOC.
And also respect to the Finnish team for an after party better than Pluto.

Has to be Stan the Man! Best relay leg of all time at WOC93, loads of other phenomenal results, started up Perth (now Tayside) Orienteers from nothing [how many top runners would do that], and generally an all-round great guy.
Of the current crop, there's Simone (obviously), Bjornar and Hanne for being consistently at the top for so long (and giving hope to the older elite), and most recently Pasi Ikonen. Whenever I visit his site, the sheer dedication and joy in training and racing just shines out and can't fail to inspire.
Looking forward to seeing a whole new crop of heroes come through at the World Cups next May.

Becks is a heroine, ref other reports. Have been in O a fair while and seen her blossom from a very nice young girl into a very responsible ambassador for our sport. Know the name Dids but only in connection with elite O. Becks works in all areas of O and should not be ridiculed for her work.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.
