for the record lately i have mostly been listening to borrowed kent and eskobar albums.
but my pick out of your earlier discussion would be radiohead, earlier stuff. if it's for a compilation and i had to pick one song i would choose high and dry from the bends just for personal sentimental reasons. but that is just a spur of the moment gut choice so don't lay into me too much.

Music fascism is completely blind but it is at least passionate. I can't deal with this "I listen to a bit of everything" stuff unless you can qualify that everything with real live opinions and fight for it!
I love some uncool music. But the sad fact is, as Samsonite has so correctly stated, that when bands get big they stop trying, or grow up, and it's all downhill from there...

saturn indeed.
I've just been to the gym so had time to think of the next question(s). Will reel them out as and when over the next few days. Oh, and using google is cheating - particularly since I'm not going to use it for setting any of the questions.
Question two (needs two people as the answer):
"The Shoals of Herring" is often to be found credited as a traditional folk song, but was actually only written in the 20th Century. Who wrote it, and which left-wing singer-songwriter's composition did his daughter take to the top of the charts in the 1980s?

To be fair, fascism is not obscure muso knowledge...it's more about rubbishing everyone else's opinions because you are invariably right.
I don't claim to be indier than thou...I just know what I like and make it well known!
