Re: Navigate to start kite
Which is of course the main reason the start kite should NOT be right in front of the start lanes.

If anyone is coming to Great Tower on Sunday.
There will be a compulsory taped route to the start kite.

Re: Navigate to start kite
I promise to go to the start kite on Sunday. I hope the taped route is better thought out than that at the British Middles where the longer courses all ran to the start kite then turned nearly 180 degrees and ran back past (and in full view of) the start box.
I'm also hoping that everyone doesn't turn up at the start at the same time. With over 100 on some courses and no allocated start times, there may be some very long queues and potentially a sizeable over-run of the last start time...

The first controls are all in a "sensible" direction.
We don't normally expect quite such a large turnout for a little level C Cumbrian Galoppen event. Is there a bus tour from Sheffield?

No bus tour, but there is an SYO training weekend in the Lakes. Also a Yorkshire Junior Squad weekend I believe.

Very nice "follow tapes to start triangle" with an out of sight start kite at the OK Nuts Trophy yesterday! - Did make me think of this thread.

Nobody on any of the courses would have wanted to do anything else - ideal
