Thanks Jenny, great news that it's on and looking forward to it.
Do you know if there will be likely be anything string or maze like for the little ones? Wondering whether to bring 4yo nephew as well as 7yo nephew. thanks!

Not as far as I know (ie we haven't been asked to do it and my dad would normally plan it but as he is planning the York race he hasn't).

Re: White Rose 2021
Just in case some last-minute folk have not entered, there is a 400 limit for event 2 (Skipwith) and entries at the moment are 379! The organiser will sort a waiting list after that. Limit due to nature reserve.
Sorry no maze... not enough hours in the day!

Re: White Rose 2021
I wonder whether any of those who punched control 62 (fence, West side) from the wrong side of the fence will confess and self disqualify. It is easy from the split times to identify 6 people on course D who did this, one of whom has put his route on Routegadget showing that he didn't go to the other side of the fence.

Re: White Rose 2021
I'm a little suprised that the legs on various courses after control 31 (number 16 on the "A" course) weren't voided.
I saw at least 4 people use the open gate that was marked as not a permissable route with purple overprint in the short time that I was going past it to run round.
I don't know whether people were using inadvertantly or not (the purple overprint was not clear - particularly on the A course where the 6-7 course line ran right next to the purple overprint blocking the gate - the course line needed cutting to make it much clearer), but anyone who did use it gained a material advantage.
I did report it to the SI team on Download, but it doesn't seem to have been voided in the results.
Didn't notice #62 was too close to the fence - but I spotted that it was the West side early and ran round.
On the note of clearness, I would mention that a couple of the numbers were difficult to read initially - a 0.1mm white border and moving a couple of the numbers would have been helpful (as per the British champs). But this is only a small gripe.

Thanks to everyone involved in putting this year's White Rose on - it was fantastic!
Probably best to email the organiser/planner/controller with queries/protests I expect.

Seconded, a great event across both the campsite and orienteering which no doubt must have involved a lot of work behind the scenes to get everything planned in the timescales within the constraints of Covid. Brought the nephews along and they loved it. Nice to have such a spacious camping field with horse and hot air balloon displays!
Thanks to all those involved. Fingers crossed for next year.
