Re: JWOC
Surely going to run a race, even at not-quite-race pace, is way way better than a plod around a model area? You get the quarantine/start procedure/nerves. Bonkers.

Re: JWOC
There might be specific circumstances affecting athletes (slight injuries etc) but on the whole if you want to get a better result in the other forest races, get back into the forest and go around the B/C final.

Re: JWOC
I remember a young man called Jamie Stevenson who messed up the short qualifier in his first JWOC (1993 Italy) and recovered to win the B final and bring the relay team home in 6th place. It didn't do him any harm!
With the addition of the Sprint it is a longer week these days, but its not particularly hot or hilly out there and I would expect most of the athletes to be fine physically. The important thing is the impact mentally of sitting watching versus getting back out there and giving it another go.

Re: JWOC
If I was the parent of an athlete told to sit out a race (if that's what's happened ) I would be furious.
I'd consider that I had forked out the 1k athlete contribution to get my offspring some race experience not go on holiday to Finland

I was looking at the live stream earlier & I'm sure I saw a GB girl start at 9.24.
But no tracking on GPS.

Report yesterday said she was a bit ill + injured, maybe something to do with that
