The commentator is funny...alexandersson obliterated the time, 20s in 90 mins of running.
Interestingly on the runback it showed her crossing the apparently uncrossable ditch??

This map isn't ISSOM, it's in if you're brave enough

4-min start-gap between team-mates TG and Basset?
you wouldn't get that at another top level competition - the CSC/CST!

Am I reading it wrong or did a W40 just get a WOC long medal?

Hope for you yet then??
Theirry also crossed ditch, zooming it in ( how i wish I could do that sometimes on a course ) there are slight breaks in the thick black lines and he went straight for one, given that its 1:15000 he must have terrific eyesight.

I think "Uncrossable" in relation to a ditch does not mean it must not be crossed. ISOM says "A black line around a water feature indicates that it cannot be crossed under normal weather conditions".

Re: WOC and WTOC 2016 in SWE
Plenty of negative comments about the trains in today's races - I understand that there's pressure to keep the start interval down to 2 mins, and the humungous leg at the start broke people up very well, but after that the difficulty of the courses was bound to bring people together in groups. This has happened often in the past, of course, so it's sad that the authorities can't agree on a system to prevent it. Making every runner stop for two minutes every half an hour is one idea, though it'd require the runners to wear a failsafe timer. More gaffles is a more straightforward idea - in fact if they ran the race as a one-person relay (farsta) they could have a mass start, which would make the TV people even happier.
