Still no details and only a week to go. Are there any problems with the event going ahead?

There's still some heras fenced off areas right next to the event centre (and some other locations also) as of my morning commute today. I suspect the timing of removal of these is a factor.

I've been told to expect to have final details to upload later today - depending on the timing of the receipt of these they would go up sometime in next 24 hours.

I anticipate that you may well see them there until Thursday and then, according to the
plan, they will miraculously disappear on Friday (sometime).

Some people will need that long to read and digest the important bits about the out-of-bounds areas and there will still be some who will get disqualified for encroaching onto them.

when did that last happen at the Sprints? other than self-DSQ?

If competition numbers are being used can we have them to be worn on the front and back so that if we see someone in front cheating then we will still see their number and can report them at the finish. I would one day like to go to a sprint event where the course is planned well but also eliminates the chances of cheating (nashing of teeth at this point)

Yes. I know you international chaps usually get a bit longer to look at the map on the run out to the start, but for the BS event its quite common to have the start kite plonked right by the prestart.
The optimal strategy last year was to leg it off in the direction of your -1man and hope you found the start on the map before overrunning the control, which isn't really what its about.

20 pages to basically tell you how to get there, and that otherwise it's the same as all the previous years...

I'm sure there are plenty of practical reasons why the details are useful further in advance. Personally I do a lot of coaching which includes preparation for major events partly for practical purposes but also for tactical/mental preparation. If the details arrive late I struggle to find time to fit all the various coaching sessions in before the event.

Like booking flights to get there in time for a late start.
and then finding you can't get a late start on M/W50
