They don't count towards the number of qualifiers. So if it's top 17 per heat then if a Canadian is in the top 17 they will take the top 18 through
They're also not eligible for for European medals, not that they stand much chance (except perhaps Emily)

Re: European Champs
Have lost Jo's tracking but by the looks of things she's caught the Finn. Looks like two heads might be better than one in that forest!

Re: European Champs
Middle Finals - women's course is as men's except for a short section in the middle, so cameras and main route choices the same. Will be interesting to see if best routes are same.

Maja Alm just stormed the first 6 controls to take the lead, Jo was going well before she disappeared.
Haug the Estonian is taking some odd routes so far... Jo might catch her soon too!

Re: European Champs
Plenty of TV time for Jo.
Ida Bobach caught her 2min and 4min runners by control one. May have their company for quite some time, especially as she is perhaps not fully recovered from injury.

Haug is having a mare of a race ahead of Jo... unless her GPS is way out. Where has Alm gone to #16?

She could get back into a top 10 position if her head's with it.
