Mind you, according to Bull 1 "Set in the heart of beautiful Scotland" means "Grangemouth".
I'm sure it will be great.

Where you can night orienteer without the need of a headlamp

**Bump**
As planner of the Saturday races I can guarantee it is a quality area. I am doing my best to make sure the courses do it justice. It must rank among one of the best sprint areas in Britain, and less than ten people have orienteered on it previously..
Don't miss out, get your entries in.

Re: Sprint Scotland
If someone, who has never done a sprint race before, is unfit, overweight, almost old enough to be Super Vet but not completely, wanted to try out a sprint race then where would you advise they start?
I'm not sure I want to enter a world class event, I maybe need an event with lots of slow people and a day beforehand to work out how the map works

Re: Sprint Scotland
Sprint orienteering is easier the slower you go! I can attest to this.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

So I wouldn't be the only one walking half the time? Maybe watching WOC has given me the wrong impression

Sprint races are sprints for the mind much more than for the body (at least when you start doing them).
I'd recommend having a walk round somewhere with a sprint map to get the idea of the mapping convention and how quickly you cover the ground, but certainly do some (all) of the Sprint Scotland races.

Some of us have to walk all the time (under orders from the doctor) but still really enjoy it.
Go for it.

Re: Sprint Scotland
Shame I'm working Thursday and Friday. I'm not clear why there are 2 Saturday events in the same place. Is the intention that if you aren't WRE or doing the whole urban league you do the afternoon one to avoid cluttering up the morning one?

Re: Sprint Scotland
It's a big area with a main road through the middle. The first race uses the western part and the second the eastern part.
