Seeing as QR codes have been mentioned....
A trial in Gretaer Manchester has put a QR code on about 8 posts at all the POCs around the area. That's about 350 across the area. Scanning it takes you to a page telling you what it is with links to get maps, more info etc.
2 questions for people to guess at, just a bit of fun, no prizes;
1 How many people scanned since January?
2 What % bothered to look at more than the first page they were landed on?
