Purple Pen Help needed

Get your club to buy a Condes licence (not that expensive), and you can work with a top of the range course planning tool that has had, over the past many years, had the rough edges smoothed off.

Not completely, as I've been finding recently. Certainly more powerful than Purple Pen, but not as intuitive to use, and distinctly clunky at times. I certainly couldn't have used PP for the JK, but would happily go back to it for a smaller event not requiring maps at different scales.

Presumably none of these programs can guard against the problem on the Haverthwaite green course last Sunday where the loose control descriptions had a different control number 2 from the control descriptions on the map?

Print the control descriptions from the same program and version of the course/map file as the maps and it should not happen. Human error could still have the wrong description and the right control location, but description on map and loose would be consistent.

I don't think it really is down to the program, more a case of following
BOF rules appendix B section 3.1

Unless you're using 'Haverthwaite' as a code name, lightning seems to have struck twice!
