The GB replica top is not going to production as there were not enough orders - shame but perhaps not surprising that there were not enough team supporters willing to pay for one. After going to quite a number of WOCs since 1997 (I think) we always admired other countries 'fan club' outfits and thought it was a good plan.
Back to wearing my 2012 Olympics GB shirt instead!

It was the wrong product to try to sell. Frankly I'd be embarrassed wearing bought GB team wear - should be worn on merit! I would however have happily ordered a cheaper 'GB supporter' tee-shirt.

I agree with Mikey. £55 for a top for supporters to a sport like ours is an awful lot of money, if they had offered a cotton tee with the same type of design across the bottom half front and back, priced around the £12-£15 mark I think loads of folk would have taken the chance to buy, me included.
There was such a good variety of non-replica merchandise at the Commonwealth Games that was reasonably priced (I know buying in bulk means you can charge less money). We could have been looking at a similar mix of low priced stuff... probably too late now!

Re: GBR replica jersey
Quite possibly too expensive for our small sport, maybe a better cost effective product would have been more appealing, TdF just started, how many MAMILs do you know wearing this kit:
http://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/team-sky/category/team-sky
Round where I am i see this kit every time I go out, £120.00 for sky top, yep and people are happy to pay for it and wear it. My lad works in a bike shop, yesterday he sold 3 bikes, 4K each. There are lots of middle aged men/women with money to spend and cycling is where they are spending it. He had a 65+ man come in and buy a 2.5K hardtail mountain bike, didn't blink and eye. As they say "all the gear no idea" but who cares Sky Teams accounts have just been published, 2014 showed an operating income of 21.4million.

Money to made out of merchandise if it does done correctly.

Re: GBR replica jersey
I agree about the wrong product, there are parallels in cycling.
Sky kit is sold to the public, but team kit is named. If you are prepared to wait, sometimes named team kit turns up for sale on ebay and even the occasional three hoops world champion track kit for sale. Cycling forums are generally not cool about the idea of wearing kit that you earn the right to wear.

Evidently Orienteers have more sense than both money and other sports participants.

Cycling isn't really a parallel. I have a team telecom top but no one would ever have mistaken me for a member of the squad. The orienteering world is too small and we compete in the same(ish) events. I agree a "support British orienteers at WOC" t shirt may have sold more

Re: GBR replica jersey
Several countries have a T shirt colour
Red for Switzerland
Yellow for Sweden
Orange for Holland
All their supporters/spectators wear it
Do we have a colour?
If so we could do the same as those countries and all wear the same colour T shirt
Then do we need a musical instrument to compete with cow bells

One problem is WOC being in Scotland and many Scots are more comfortable with the Saltire than the Union flag.
I have an Audax Ecosse cycling jersey but not an Audax UK one (and I'm from England originally)

Err! What's that got to do with anything, it's a GB team not a Scottish team, the fact that they are competing in Scotland is neither here nor there. You would'nt expect GB supporters to wear a Swiss flag if WOC was being held in Switzerland!

The team is GBR; the fact that they compete in Scotland (or that they have "Sport England" on their suits) isn't relevant. In fact, even if the whole team were from Scotland it doesn't make it a Scotland team. The latter happened for the ESP team a year or so back when the whole team were from Catalonia ... and all (at least initially) refused to carry the ESP flag.
The cycling analogy isn't ideal - 1st and 2nd in the GBR Road Race champs this year were from a country that isn't part of GBR (not indeed UK, or even EU).
Of course being ethnically confused myself I see no reason why spectators can't wave both Scottish and Union Flags when the GBR runner is Scottish. You'd have to ask the non-Scottish members of the team whether they'd appreciate the bagpipes, but it sounds a reasonable plan to me.

(who compained at a Team Officials Meeting at I think ETOC last year when GBR was listed as [the POR equivalent of] "Inghilterra")

You're missing the point though. The Union flag has quite negative connotations in Scotland just now following the referendum and there's 45% of Scots who may have some qualms about waving one. (and that's leaving aside the Glasgow Rangers issue...) That's got nothing at all to do with the GBR team. I've got a small sackful of Union Jack car flags myself ready to go but I'm tempted with your idea of one of each!

No, I'm not missing the point about the sectarian angle either - I went to Larkhall Academy, although living in Str'aven I experienced less beatings for going to a "blue" school than for having an "english" accent.
