I didn't want to hijack the JK thread but I have a similar question for the SOL in Dunalastair in June.
I have taken over the planning for this event and am wondering whether we can expect higher than normal numbers on the black and brown courses, and if so, how high, and what I need to take into account when planning.
The two SOLs that weekend are listed on the WOC site under "Training areas". The SOLs are not listed on the SEDS training list, but then that list doesn't go beyond the end of May.
Any insights?
Thanks,
Roos

Re: SOL 6 - Dunalastair
Roos,
I am planning the SOL on Saturday at Tullochrosik and am doing normal SOL courses (except Black) and then 2 totally separate elite courses (with a different start) as "Middle" races with winning times of approx 35mins (e.g. very short Black for the Men and very short Brown for the Women). Given that for "middle" races the start interval is less I don't envisage there being a problem. However, I would suggest having separate elite courses for the SOL to mitigate this problem.
Cheers

Re: SOL 6 - Dunalastair
Black at SOLs is M21E only. Combining W21E and M21 M35 M40 on Brown might give you a big entry, but we got away with it at Balmoral.
When the elite course is a "middle", it's natural to combine with other (large) classes. The UK Cup* final means that Tullochroisk will be especially attractive to 21s.
So, I'd guess Dunalastair won't need a special W21E course but Tullichroisk will.

Re: SOL 6 - Dunalastair
Thanks. I am happy to put on a separate course if I know there will be people to run it. For the time being I'll just stick to the normal SOL courses, and will try not to have too much overlap between brown and black.
