I'm expecting a quality field at the ESOC sprint O on the 31st then

As part of the Newcastle City Race weekend in July we (NATO) are planning a Sprint Relay on the Saturday afternoon (2 Men + 2 Women as per WM etc.). Complex modern estate, almost flat, which should make for fast running. Courses planned for 12-15 minute leg winning times with plenty of spectator appeal.

Re: Sprint races at Urban Leagues 2015
Thanks for all the really useful advice re the chasing sprint at Linton. Sorry some folk are completely against the chase but I'm going ahead with it anyway. No one is more against following than me but I think it will be worth it for the excitement. I finalised the planning yesterday and I think the courses are great and, with the loops, it will only be the last eigth of the total distance that following will be an option in the A and B courses (C and D are too short to make loops a realistic option). Even then I think I've planned a pretty technical finish so a person with super technique will beat a faster but less sure runner... of course those who are fast and accurate will beat them both!
Just looking at setting out the courses for the final - what do people think of this?
I've put the codes on the map and broken the lines of the legs towards the common control but left those leaving intact - I think this makes it easier to follow the correct order.
Advice please...
Meanwhile please note that the event is pre-entry only due to security and even those attending but not competing have to be entered on Fabian (no charge of course) or they won't be allowed in. It should be good spectating and there is an indoor area and cafe with excellent bacon sandwiches (and I'm sure healthier options) right by the finish.

It looks good! It might be less clutter and (I think) it's more common to mark the central control with "1,4,8,11 - 47" rather than repeating the code 4 times.

Yes, I think that would look neater. You could also try making the font size for the code slightly smaller than that for the sequence number and see how that looks (I think Condes will do this by default). But it generally looks pretty good to me - I'm sad that I won't be there.
