I'm surprised no one has mentioned it.
Thursday 18th September.
That's right, the first event of this season's Kent Night Cup. The wonderful mix of adventure, banter and pub grub. It makes day orienteering seem rather dull.... I wonder why so few clubs have copied the format?
First event, Abbey Wood, just to the west of Maidstone. Every Thursday till March.

Maroc and Gramp have been doing that for years with the Deeside Night Cup...

When do your races start if the events start in September? We don't start til November when it's dark after work

Sunset 7.07. There might be a bit of late evening light which will add to the atmosphere at the start but won't be of much help under the trees.

Night orienteering always seems to throw up a surprises. Last night it was the spiders. Perhaps the warm, dry windless weather caused the maze of webs in some parts of the wood?
BTW, next week's venue is Ashford North (street event) not Kings Hill. Doable from London on the high speed line to Ashford.

SOC had a great Photo O event in Winchester on 18th September. Lovely to run around the city on a balmy summers evening. Enjoyed the après O too!
