Middle Qualifier online results:
WQ1- Katie 16th, Rhona 31st (was 14th at timing point 3.)
WQ2- Zoe 4th, Julie 19th.
WQ3- Lucy 9th, Tamsin 13th.
MQ1- Sasha 13th, Ciaran 25th.
MQ2- Aidan 15th, Chris 33rd.
MQ3- Oliver 34th, Adam 36th.
I believe it is top 20 each heat to the A final tomorrow, which will have a 2 minute start interval.

Re: JWOC Bulgaria
One in the eye for the selectors then
So 2 of the girls who were not good enough to be selected - Tamsin and Katie - have made the final, whereas 4 of the boys who were considered good enough didn't make it!

Re: JWOC Bulgaria
Ah, but the boys are generally a smaller percentage behind the winners time, and we all know that's what matters - right?
To be fair, it does mean the boys ran pretty well.

Or, equally, you can look at the Long results and say they were vindicated…

Re: JWOC Bulgaria
Good luck to the runners for the finals tomorrow.
More than half into the A finals: may be it was the best day yet for the team, overall. Well done those who made it, possibly one or two were smart and got a bit of help at the end from a faster orienteer starting behind them. Bad luck to those who didn't, we can see they all gave it a good shot. Rhona as noted was doing well until time loss at the end. Ciaran looks to have missed because of one control, and Chris because of two. And whilst neither Olly nor Adam had a good run, taking the better time from them for each leg (basically Olly for the first half and Adam for the second half) gives a comfortable 10th place!
Edit: typo corrected.

Zoe 3rd, with only 10 still to finish and only one of those quicker to the first radio control!

Re: JWOC Bulgaria
Maybe the selectors picked the team for the middle and relay rather than the long (if there were close decisions.)
Looking forward to tomorrow's relays.

Only GB, Switzerland and Finland with four girls in the top 30 and only GB and Switzerland with five in the top 35. Great performance by the girls.
So pleased the girls proved the selectors got it right in the end!

Just had a chance to catchup... some fantastic results today, serious strength in depth from the girls, bodes well for the two girls relay teams, and possibly the best ever GB performance from a first year 18?
