I'm not going to stop anyone reading books on improving punctuation etc but I'm not asking for perfect Queen's English. However there's rules we have in English, and in any language so that everyone understands what you mean. Txt spk is a whole different language. Maybe I should start posting in French so only a proportion can decipher what I'm banging on about. All I ask is we communicate in something resembling English, or that aside we have a button we can click which expands txt speak to something approaching real words!

Congratulations for getting the apostrophe in "you're" in the right place. Now see if you can tell the difference between "its" and "it's"

nope.....well i can but i never use them at the right times....plus i'm putting in enough effort writing in full words....you're going to have to put up with me getting my 'its' and 'it's' wrong for the time being.

Thank you Jene! You have no idea how much easier your posts are to read with the inclusion of full words! I appreciate the effort! As my teacher parents say though, you've got to learnt to type the full words fast for when you word process school work and stuff - so it's all for the greater good!

nope...microsoft word changes words automatically for you.....so 'n' changes to 'and' unless you type 'Alt-n', well, thats how i've programmed mine anyway, because it should already change "becuase" into "beacuse" and words that loads of people get wrong but i've added all my txt slang to the database.

Much more handy when you're writing a science based report and can't be arsed to type in the long words every time - that is definitely a place where Word's AutoCorrect is very helpful.

txt spk evolved so that you get more info into a message. You don't have any excuse when using [nope] ...

well, I do, kind of, because you can write so much quicker plus its a habit, I type the same way on my phone as i do on [nope] / other forums / msn,

ok, so there's no excuse, it's just a habit that i'm obviously going to have to break.
