Re: World Champs
So it looks like...
Mens
Gold Georgiou
Silver Hubmann (Daniel)
Bronze Lundanes
GG 20
Scot 52
Womens
Gold Mironava
Silver Alexanderson
Bronze Wyder
Cat 19
Claire 29
Hollie’s SI didn’t work at the last control – hopefully she can get reinstated – if so she squeezes in just ahead of Claire.

Just as the winner was due to finish then?

Still, the best people won and our team ran pretty much as expected. Another Commonwealth gold for the Aussies

Re: World Champs
Canada make it onto today's medal table, so if we can get Cyprus' Georgios Andrea to get round in under 4 hours then we may get the full compliment on there:

Re: World Champs
What are the 1/4s and 1/2s for (sorry if that is explained earlier in the thread)?
Let's see if IoM can move higher in the CG Trail-O table.

Re: World Champs
You asked and so (because my boss is in a meeting until 10) you shall receive:
Some of you will be asking what I have against the Hong Konger Hui Yau Chui and why she hasn't been credited with her Commonwealth Bronze. Its cos Hong Kong's not in the Commonwealth any more, I checked. So Sarah Jane Gaffney sneaks in to claim the medal for Scotland, I've not bothered to check if she still counts herself as Scottish but she sounds like one which is good enough for the panel (ie me).

Re: World Champs
Interesting decision by the jury regarding Hollie. The video shows Hollie arriving at the last control before Judith Wyder (3rd place), but leaving after Wyder. Wyder receives a valid punch, but not Hollie. The jury's decision is, it is the athlete's responsibility to punch correctly at every control.
Lots of questions spring to mind, given the athlete can only rely on the SI unit beeping and flashing, then Hollie was given every indication that she punched correctly. Is this a case of faulty equipment and something the organisers should put their hand up to before the athlete even needs to appeal to the jury? Is it a known fault with SI that I'm not aware of? If so, how should you make sure your punch is registered? Any thoughts?
