Wow, as Per would say that got exciting at the end, just after my work colleague gave up and went home!
Wyder only just hanging on to win by 3 secs for the Swiss after going out with a big lead and Cat pulling up to 6th place

Re: World Champs
Has anyone said what happened to Helena J on the first leg? She looked to be in a lot of pain at the finish. I hope she hasn't re-broken herself.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Re: World Champs
Is that all?! That's bizarre! I presumed the shoe was off because the foot was injured!

Re: World Champs
I'm guessing running half of the race barefoot might be quite painful.

Well yes...but what happened to her shoe?! It seems strange that you would just carry on without one...

From orientering.se:
Ten metres after the start line I got my shoe stamped off by another runner. The first half of the race I ran with just my toes in the shoe, and then ran the rest of the course barefoot. I couldn't believe it. It should be impossible for a well-taped racing shoe to come off my foot, said Helena Jansson, who had severe pain in her foot after the race.
Despite the fact that she ran most of the leg with only one shoe, she kept Sweden in the medal race, and sent Jerker Lysell out on the second leg.
AND
Jansson was now back after having missed last year's WOC due to a foot injury.
