Re: World Cup Finland
Not ignoring Scott's 7th (which I'm sure he won't be 100% happy about) warmest congratulations to Hoddy for 12th place in a really tough World Cup!

Ah, you must have a better browser than the FC - can't see the GPS at work.

yep, DQ now, shame as he was going well apart from that lapse in concentration!

Re: World Cup Finland
Anyone know what happened to Murray and Cat? MUrray looks like he blew a bit at the start and Cat lost 40s between 1st and 2nd intermediates.

Re: World Cup Finland
He did the get fastest split on 7-8 the long leg. So I assume that's where crossing the uncrossable happened. So we can't say he would have come 12th if...

The splits are online
Cat had poor splits on 5 and 13
Murray on 1 3 5 and 8 - ouch!
get it out of the system before the relays!

Hopefully he was advised to DQ himself.

Re: World Cup Finland
Glad I provided some entertainment! Just to clarify, I did find a new way of crossing uncrossable features today. I didn't see the fence on the map and also didn't see it on the ground either. I just ran down the middle of the road and didn't notice anything odd. After I had finished I realised what had happened and disqualified myself. I'm not sure what happened but perhaps they hadn't put the fence in place for me as I was the first men's starter. Still, a great race experience nonetheless.

That's a shame there was nothing on the ground, were a lot the fences man-made? map looks like they were

Yes, the organisers said they had used 800m of temporary fencing for the final. They used some on the qualifier too. Expect a different layout tomorrow...

Hmm, not sure I like this artificial fence stuff for sprints, seems to be a bit of a cop out. Hope we don't see it in the towns of Moray next year!

Of course not: WOC 2015 will be an inclusive celebration of local culture - so to ensure that the race map differs from that already available on Routegadget or drawable from Google Streetview, Freefall will be blocking off a number of narrow alleyways by luring in some of the many plus-size citizens of Nairn and Forres with deep-fried cake and buckfast (now available in cans!!)

and if they get wedged too firmly Police Scotland will get the water cannon out

Just looked at the tracking - ouch indeed! Still at least he saw the imaginary fence on the map...eventually

Horrible sprint map too though - really difficult to get your head round with the fences and the OOB.
