It's not obvious to me, many an older sibling or parent could run at that pace. Round our way the BOF insurance rules are interpreted as it's OK to allow an U16 to take part in an urban race (senior course) so long as they are accompanied by an over 18.

Looking at Win Splits today I am surprised to find a M14 on my course . No problem that he had run before on the MJ, but thought that he was too young under BOF conditions. He was obviously running on his own looking at the speed he went. Irresponsible, on behalf of parents and club allowing this to occur.

Yawn, clearly his parents deemed him able enough to do it. Looking at course D there is only 1 road that had any traffic on it, crossed twice. Can we drop this nonsense complaint please (so that by the time my kid is 14 I can make a judgement rather than bureaucracy!)

Exactly, he's non-comp so you kind of have to assume he was accompanied.

Steady on, you appear to be suggesting our rules should be based on evidence and experience. Don't be silly, we'll be letting scientists onto committees next
