Re: Northern Champs
The orienteering was great on all three days, even though I wasn't, but what was going on at the start on Saturday? Picking up the maps before punching the start unit was a bizarre choice. I noticed a couple of people studying their maps and being slow to punch, despite the urging of the start official, and heard a rumour that someone had stood for two minutes. Surely can't be right to allow an indeterminate planning time.

Fantastic weekend's orienteering all round, maps, courses and organisation.
A priority drop off point instead of the priority parking would have been a good addition if it had been possible. My wife and young kids decided to miss the Sunday event due to the long walks.

Re: Northern Champs
Another set of positive comments from me: superb areas, great planning and the healthy turnout gave both Sat/Sun a good atmosphere - I actually think the long walk to assembly on Sunday helped with this as people stuck around. Shame we couldn't order the weather!
On that note, in hindsight I'm not sure it was necessary to make cags compulsory on the Sunday as the majority was in relatively sheltered forest, but it didn't impact negatively on my experience of the event.
Also nice to see junior squad cake stands, local fundraisers and Podium Catering back in their rightful place.
