Re: JK 2014
Re an exit poll post jk and your experiences, I suppose this will be upto to BO if they want one! But I know from past experience that the current web master has created surveys e.g. Croeso, but that's not to say he will do one.

Tom of Red Baron charges £1.50 for hot chocolate, so a 100% increase!

But are you comparing like with like? Is Tom's hot chocolate the same volume as the large (ToW) one - I presume that is why you compared the £1.50 with the £3 large rather than the £2.50 regular. Perhaps there is also a quality difference and the ToW one comes with whipped cream and marshmallows. I hope so, I'm not an elite athlete and am treating the JK as a holiday, plus I love chips.

You paid the entry fee?
More fool you.
Thanks for pointing out the error of our ways, I always thought it was a bit unusual being on an orienteering forum with other fans of orienteering, talking about the UK's premier orienteering event and deciding to still go despite them selling chips.
I'm sure when I'm running up and down the beautiful Welsh hillsides along with 3000 other folk who share the same passion, I will feel a right twat rather than being stuck in an office at 8am lit only by my computer screen. Cheers.

Re: JK 2014
Wan't sure whether to put this on this thread or the one about map scales...
I have just received my pre-ordered maps for the JK training. Very disappointed with the print quality. Laser print on waterproof paper at 1:10k. Very fuzzy such that even my kids young eyes can't bring it into focus. I hope we can expect better at the weekend.
Just goes to show that print quality is more important than map scale.

Some good advertising for JK - http://www.s4c.co.uk/clic/c_level2.shtml?programme_id=519008145
The club publicity officer (SBOC) managed to get a slot on Heno, a welsh evening current affairs programme aka The One Show, appreciate it is in Welsh, but Siriol and her children were great. Dai Iawn.
Even managed to get the BO mini film in the background.
If you follow the link or go to BBC iplayer it was on last night at 8:00pm and the clip on orienteering starts at 15:30, not worked out how to get subtitles on iplayer
Kris Jones may well be on Swansea Sound today (local radio) and we are also trying to get him/the organiser on BBC Wales (radio I think).
There are a few words you will know like "Singleton Park"
Well done Siriol, Dayfydd and Lowri - especially as they were training yesterday with the WJS and had to high tail it down to the studios in Cardiff - Bendigedig!

Yes, probably nothing to do with the JK. When I did training maps for JK2012, BO would have nothing to do with it, so we presented it as a SEDS fundraiser. Didn't raise much funds, which presumably is why BO would have nothing to do with it.
Coming soon

Thanks for this Phil. I've now discovered how to get the English subtitles displayed. Find out more from the latest JK website news item at http://www.thejk.org.uk/jk2014/index.php?pg=207&news=45

Thanks David, works really well, Lowri was on BBC Radio Cymru (BBC Welsh language radio station) this morning talking about 'O' and the JK.

So because it's a junior squad fundraiser the map quality doesn't matter?
We'll manage with what we have but my point was perhaps more relevant to the map scale debate.

On a positive note....
Having just spent two days JK control hanging, in the glorious sunshine
, if the weather stays the same, ensure you wear your sunscreen, particularly our many volunteer helpers who will be without shade for hours.
