Quite a lot of excited chatter from athletes going to Portugal.
Middle Qualification on Thursday.
Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed its more 'Katrina and the Waves' and not 'Josh Dubovie'.

Re: Europeans
Interesting spread in the womens middle qualifier:
Qualifier 1 seemed a much stronger field with 15th place 29:12 where as Q2 15th was 31:43 and Q3 15th 31:04. Well done Claire for qualifying in Q2 looks like Hollie just missed out in Q3 and if Charlotte and Zoe were running in Q2 instead of Q1 they would have qualified, luck of the draw (or unluck of the draw).
Also well done to Ralph qualifying in Q1, Estonia dominated Q3 - the Sild brothers

Re: Europeans
even better, could not see anything online, assumed it was top 15 to qualify, in that case well done Hollie, unlucky Helen missing out by 4 secs
looks like Mens Q2 has caught up, well done GG.
Hopefully 2 men and 2 women qualified for the final - tbc

Re: Europeans
Some brisk times out there in middle qualifying. In the men you have to be doing under about 5 mins/km to qualify, women about 6.5 mins/km. Maybe that 23km for the long final isn't looking so silly for a 100 min winning time after all...

There would appear to have been a number of protests about misplaced

Edict on world of o is saying control 101 in men's qualifier 1 was 30m misplaced. Kiril Nikolov Bulgaria protested and he is now in the a final - he finished 20th. Did GBR protest as Doug Tullie finished 18th but it is being reported only Nikolov has been promoted to the a final!

Re: Europeans
At least the EOC orgnisers remain "serene" [their words not mine - see below] about the situation. I read somewhere that there'd be a final decision on Friday afternoon.
"The organizing committee, recognizing some imperfections in implementing the the qualifying middle distance, without attempting to feed iniquities or evil speaking, remains serene and confident about the quality of their performance and the continuing work to develop.
Thus, on matters that have been subject to criticism, refers to a decision that best protects the interests of the sport and those of the athletes, to be made on the 11th of April.
Best regards,
The EOC / ETOC 2014 Organizing Committee"

It's not just the radio controls that are not working...
Is anyone getting any success getting the Live results to work? I had the Men's Quali working for about a minute then the page went nuts... now I'm getting google's page saying "webpage not available"

Re: Europeans
I had six windows open for results + sound + twitter feed and it was all working perfectly for me - until a few minute ago.
Now error message on all the or-live.com windows. Server overload?

We're British, we don't complain. Sadly. Although I think Doug had other issues also...
This whole EOC is a blummin' shambles. I had the team texting me to see how they'd done yesterday. Today I don't suppose anyone knows how anyone's done apart from those based permanently in the arena.
Couldn't organise a port drinking session......
