Hi
Can anyone tell me when they saw Mike Hamilton at an orienteering event, coaching session, Junior Regional Squad or other orienteering related activity?
Thanks

Who? Not a CEO of my sport, is he?
Martin Ward, now he's a man with presence.

Just gathering information.
I haven't seen him in the Lake District, and don't remember there being a BOF tent at Eskdale.
I just wonder what he has been to.

Re: BOF CEO
I find this kind of oblique apparent criticism disturbing: if you have a beef, be more open about it and say what the problem is.
I have personally seen the CEO at many JKs, including relays.
And the so-called BOF tent seems exactly to be that - a fairly basic facility where BOF can be contacted at a major event, and I've never seen any kind of hospitality in it or near it.

Re: BOF CEO
He has to go to the JK because of the AGM.
Did he go to the launch of WOC at the Six Days?
Has he been to a NWJS weekend, or any JROS weekend, or any Performance Camp, or attended a load of weekend events to find out what goes on, or club meetings, or Association meetings?
He is Chief Executive of British Orienteering. A good Chief Exec would get out and about and make sure he knows how the "business" runs.
I don't think he does that, as I don't think he is that interested in orienteering.
Clear enough?
If people come back with loads of examples where he has been out and about in the last year, then I am happy to be proved wrong.

Re: BOF CEO
I love orienteering, but if I spent my working days being the CEO of British Orienteering, an orienteering event would be the absolutely last place you'd find me in my free time.
More seriously, do you have any evidence that he isn't a good CEO? Do you trust your elected councillors? I've met Mike Hamilton once and he seemed a very capable individual. I don't know enough about BOF to say whether or not he is doing a good job, but I trust our elected councillors to do something about it if he wasn't.

Re: BOF CEO
Orienteering IS the business, so going to orienteering events and other activities to see how they run, not necessarily take part, would seem to be rather important.
And, no, I don't really think our Directors are correctly holding him to account.

Time for you to put yourself forward for a Director post perhaps.
