garmin 620
I was lucky enough to receive the new garmin 620 for my birthday (Carlsberg don't do wives but if they did..). Have to say it's been fantastic. But am currently in Manchester for a couple of days ie 200miles south and having a problem. Garmin took a lock longer to pick up satellites -I expected this even though it's normally instant at home-based but even once it says it's picked them up it won't measure distance. Or if it does it says I've gone .01k in 20min. Any ideas? I need to check it again when I get home. Maybe it needs reset? Although I've no idea, how to do that on this model

Re: garmin 620
When my 410 does that I normally need to reset it.
According to instructions for 620, you reset it by holding the power button (circle with line straight through top) for 15 seconds. After it turns off, hold same button for 1 second to turn it back on. It won't delete your data.

What are pictorial descriptions?

Re: garmin 620
maybe it's the weather, or the satellites are on a go slow...
My Forerunner 410 has been very reliable, but in the last week or two it's taken ages to get a lock, and it lost the track on one of my regular routes where it's usually very accurate

Thanks Electrocuted - that worked! It still wasnt picking up the satellites correctly when I got home so tried your solution. Very strange as it said it was but couldnt seem to give me a pace for my run. All sorted now though - went for an extra run to celebrate!

Remember to take it off if you get selected to run at WOC (Sprint Race your discipline?)

Well AndyP look at the bright side. You have just improved from 33 hours/km to what ever you are managing now. That must be some sort of record.
Following some comments on another thread, what a pity that trophies for "the most improved" generally apply only to juniors
