I've nothing against ranking lists. I sat on the original ranking list working party back in the 1990s (?) which proposed putting together a one list rankings. Maybe, in my statistical naivety, i expected too much, but I just think there are too many holes in the BOF one for it to be used for anything other than a bit of interest, or as a discrete competition.

Shame, I thought there might be some "missing the Ben record by a second" vengence going on. Finlay does seem to be making that record look, if not beatable, at least believable. And the Cuillin thing is amazing.

Too right, you certainly know how to play the system - picking up a bucket of points at the weekend choosing the perfect event (small, local, urban/park with short courses)
