Think most of those races are pretty "middle class" - or at least the competitors seem to be, though not really sure we should be looking at/be bothered by the class of a race, or really if a class system exists anymore (pretty sure the traditional working/middle/upper doesn't but that's a whole different debate).
Going abroad for races is never really cheap whichever you choose and with the great array there is next year it's going to be hard to decide.
I fancy this one though:

Mao seem a little confused with their dates. Website headline is same weekend as BOC. Bulletin 1/2 states a week later

Hi All,
Any idea which is the best airport to fly into and which is the best method of transport from the airport to Zematt?

Last time we flew to Geneva and then got the train. Swiss have (had?) a system of cheap** tourist train tickets. **I suspect "cheap" to be in relation to rest of the country, and I can't remember what it was called.

Zermatt isn't super near any airport (unless you are very rich and can fly into Sion). Easiest is probably to go to Geneva and then get the train, with Zurich also being a similar distance. You get the train to Visp on the mainline and then there's a cog-wheel train up to Zermatt.

Last time we flew into Basel from Liverpool with Easyjet, then caught a direct train to Brig, changing there for the train to Zermatt.

Last time we flew birmingham to Geneva and got the train from there. I think the train is only about £35.

This may have been the Swiss Transfer Ticket or Swiss Card - these cover one return journey from an airport (or the border) to most stations in Switzerland with the Swiss Card also giving 50% off fares during the stay. I had such a ticket a few years ago (I thought it was called the Swiss Transfer Ticket but it included the 50% discount) which cost about £25 - however the prices are now CHF 135 and CHF 195.

I'd like to go to this event but due to the expected cost I'm having difficulties finding someone to go with - is there anyone in a similar position, or in a group that wouldn't mind an extra person to bring all the costs down?
