Name the WOC medalists? Stevenson, Marston, Palmer, Hale Monro
Name the World Cup Medalists? No idea *
Who won the Swedish Championships? Hale
Who finished first on first leg of Tio Mila? Palmer
Who went to Cambridge University? James, Monro
Who went to Walton High School? Peel, Palmer & Hale
* BOF website lists Hargreaves Stevenson Monro Hale & James
No idea why its a trick, or why wee boids think they should rule Scotland.
Not bad!
Dan Marston went to Cambridge as well, and Steve Hale was in Walton Chasers but didn't go to Walton High School (I guess that was the trick question)
Also I wouldn't have got Jenny James' World Cup Medal - nice one Jenny

Re: Name the Stars
Was it Steve Palmer who finished first on the first leg of Junior Tia Mila only to find he was the only one of his team there?

Re: Name the Stars
The year we did the junior Tio Mila during a Ludvika tour (1985 I think), our first leg runner came in first in a sprint finish. I can't be sure who it was but I think it was Dan Duke and being a national level junior 1500m runner it would be about right. I was there to take over and what with it being dark and in all the confusion, it wasn't at all clear what was going on, but as I left the arena I had a strange feeling that I might be leading. It didn't last long. Came back in 5th a few minutes down. Can't remember where we came overall but it was good enough to win a woolly hat - which didn't fit. Maybe Frostbite, who was also there, can confirm or correct my very poor recollection.

Tim > Dave Troman came in 1st on 3rd leg in 1986, with your team finishing 6th overall, 16 minutes down. I'm pretty sure you still have the best british result in the competition, though our team in 1994 was the closest to winning it just 9mins down.
I think Troman and Palmer are the only Brits to come in 1st during the race. I came in 1st once but was a year too old, running for Australia, and ate a whole pack of dextrosol pre race, so not sure that counts.
Just for the record Jamie's also been Swedish champ in Ultra-long. He was also just cm's away from winning Swedish relay champs but got beaten in a sprint by IFK Göteborg
, who he then joined the following year after realising they were the best club in Sweden, and by the summer he was world champion....

DIDSCO - wrong year, wrong leg, wrong person - I'm now questioning whether I was even there or I just made it all up. Thank you for filling in the detail.
