A reminder that online entries for Lincoln City race close at midnight on Bank Holiday Monday and cheaper, first stage online entries for Sheffield close today. Limited EOD at both events....

I'm doing Lincoln (if I survive the White rose tomorrow) but my second race of the weekend is Roxburgh Reivers Tweedbank race -which also looks good and for me is just over the border.

Due to Sunday transport being useless and us spending seven hours on trams and trains to run around Attercliffe for fifty minutes. Not at all due to my brain switching off when I thought I'd spotted the stretch of canal used for filming the opening shot of Full Monty, so resulting in trying to climb to the wrong bridge, getting stuck in brambles and barbed wire and losing six minutes off my time.

No thanks to British Rail or whoever owns the trains these days, many thanks to all involved in the two days' races which were most enjoyable!

I thought Peter's map was great, as were Colin's courses. A pity they had to make manual edits to all the maps on the morning due to gates being open/closed not as expected, but I guess that's a hazard of urban orienteering planning in an area like this.

Really enjoyed both events.

Comparing the maps, the quality of the Lincoln map is much higher than the Sheffield one, and I found the Lincoln one easier to keep in contact with - more vivid colour? Is this down to the printing technique or the paper composition?
