Re: JWOC 2014
Hi
Sorry to get to this late - have been travelling a bit...
Have looked through our old map files and can't see any of them although I imagine you are having the same issues searching through Cyrillic script map names - not the quickest. I'll email a few people though and see whether I can get hold of anything.
I did a fair bit of orienteering when I was out there although more at the coast than on the mountains. I have a few thoughts on how to approach it and what good training might be. I'll be in touch with the guys at BOF who coach the juniors but if there are others who are not in the set up then send me a message on here and I'll get in touch by email or something.
The planner is Kiril Nikolov - Bulgaria's best ever orienteer. He said the long area is a planner's dream - a bit of everything.
[going off-topic]
Kiril's been getting quite a lot of publicity for orienteering in Bulgaria recently as he often wins adventure races with Ivan Sirakov and they are known as the orienteers. He is also about to run the 5 highest peaks in Bulgaria in 24 hours with live finish on Bulgarian TV. For all the Bulgarian speakers out there the website is here http://fivepeaks.bg/
