Thanks - no real urgency, just would be nice to have a full club set for recording and rewarding those who achieved high results.

Can never understand why - it's the least important part of the course.

It's the only leg that ALL the club compete on. It's just a bit of fun for us recreational orienteers!
But surely for you serious guys, are you saying that a race has never been won on the run-in?

The run-in competition at Perth 2009 was very popular, it's a good bit of fun that everyone can take part in. You can have some friendly (or not) competition with family, friends, and club-mates regardless of what course you ran.

Great idea and thanks for doing it SIMan. Many of the kids in our club love the sprint finish comp. For one in particular it was his main motivation to take part in the 6 days. If it irks the purists, then so be it.

Any news on Routegadget for Day 3 (Culbin)? On the website it just says "delayed".

p.s. yes, the run-in is a fun additional challenge. Gives you something to go for, even when you've had a disaster out in the forest. Day 6, 33 secs.

I understand the problem with day 3 RG is that there were butterflies on some courses. I planned to have a look at it when I had sorted other website stuff out, but I haven't had to process an event with butterflies either. So anyone with experience of this?

Day 3 Culbin RouteGadget now available.

There weren't any butterflies when I looked at the course files myself. It was a crossover and re-used control on 3 courses. The problem was a crossing point left in the course file, which all you RG uploaders know causes problems.

I've also added a new entry on the RouteGadget website, additional notes about map image sizes.
