BOF after 2014?

What happens to BOF / SOA after a yes vote in the Scottish Referendum next year? Are there any contingency plans in place as e.g. WOC2015 will be in Scotland and not in BOFLand.... will the JK continue to come north, what about the British Champs?

it wouldn't affect WOC 2015 as even if there's a yes vote in autumn 2014 it would be a couple of years at least before independence during which the details are to be worked out (like whether England can deport all the Scottish tossers - Iain Duncan Smith, Tony Blair, Michael Gove etc - who are making such a mess of the place)

further on, it might get complicated for a while as you need full passport-holding citizenship to represent a Federation, but the new SOF, if there was one, would only get 1 place per event at WOC, so athletes might have to make difficult decisions as to which passport to hold

I thought there was a possibility that Faslane would be declared a Sovereign territory . The Scots could therefore form a new club SUBO based within the dockyard to retain British eligibility. A new urban map maybe ?

it's a big list that doesn't quite do what it says (e.g. Tanzania didn't get independence in 1974, it was formed as a merger of two separate states) - maybe you should also list all the states that have disappeared

but there's no absolute rule that says one country = one sporting team (e.g. West Indies cricket & British Lions cf Hong Kong at the Olympics and Scotland's alleged footie team)

I like your thinking oh grizzled lupine one. How about Ireland rugby as a model where a part of a country became a separate country yet both parts still play as one team.
