Men doing equally badly in the first loop. Hong Kong runner currently 500m off the map on the way to number 1, and still heading further off.

Don't think there's any TV coverage today as it's qualification but for the final tomorrow, the link to YLE's program is http://arenan.yle.fi/tv/1969771

Re: WOC 2013
Wow, stick the GPS track up to 10 mins and the first 5 controls on the men's heat 1 looks like my 3 1/2 year old has been scribbling over the map with his colouring pens...

Can't do better than that

There were some big misses out there. Does it compare with the Trossachs?

Personally I think the map looks harder than the Trossachs does (at least around the first 5 controls).
Looks like Men's heat 2 had an easier looking 1st control than heats 1 and 3, avoiding the rocky ridge.
Great to see all five GBR runners making it through a very technical race. How hard is the final going to be?

In case you haven't seen it, here's a video of the Middle Qual area: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYBNosFaePk I can't see what all the fuss was about.
Finnish forests look so... fluffy.
I thought the best bit on the GPS tracking, apart from the general carnage, was watching those two guys getting the bus to the finish!
Good luck to Team GB for the final two days

Re: WOC 2013
So Middle Finals today... what are people's predictions?
Men's race - 6.3km - Hector - 11:28, Mark - 11:34
Women's race - 5.1km - Tess - 13:15:30, Claire - 13:18:30, Hollie - 13:30:30 (All BST)
I think we might sneak a top 10 somewhere but I can't decide who...

Re: WOC 2013
It's the same area as yesterday but not quite such a good bit: more climbing and more paths. http://www.woc2013.fi/woc/images/Vuokat ... nvaara.pdf Hard to see anyone other than Tero and Simone winning the golds, but I'm sure something will surprise us.
Edgars is an amazing runner, or does he just look sleeker/faster because of running in white?! I like the fact that Minna is starting 90 seconds after Simone, and they both have a long sweat for the medals...
