Top 20 for Ralph!
That puts him on a relatively small all-time GB list!

Re: WOC 2013
So Cat's run today makes her the 4th British Woman to get a WOC Long Top-10, in the 45 years it has been going? She joins Carol McNeill, Yvette Baker (nee Hague), Heather Monro.

I think that puts things nicely in perspective.
Ralph's run is a great result for Ralph and a good result for GB.
Cat's run is a great result for GB and a good result for Cat.

It was amAing in the arena. The Finns are avid supporters, but cheered all nationalities for good performances. They especially welcomed Simone and Thiery. Great runs from our 3 runners. It was very hot and humid and the courses were long. Loved seeing Ralph go past Merz on the run in!

Good photos...... I noticed the GBR Performance Lead was wearing Adidas at the finish & not the team sponsors

Hopefully the good vibes will continue through the middle & onto the relay...

Yes, that was good. "I don't care who you are, or that you've caught me 6 minutes, you're not coming past me on the run in!!"

Thanks. And although Steve has arrived, some of his luggage went elsewhere. But at least he's got a GB top on!

Re: WOC 2013
Interesting to see they've stuck with the decision to enter only 2 men in tomorrow's middle race.
While I can understand the desire to rest runners, surely there is nothing lost by entering a third runner from between those who are not racing in the relay (Kris, Scott or Matt) to at least get a bit extra experience?
To be fair performances have generally been extremely good so far so you don't want someone just to make up numbers, but one would assume all of the above would have a reasonable chance at a decent result?

Re: WOC 2013
Pure chaos currently happening on the three women's middle qualifiers at the first three controls. After 6 minutes running a Norwegian woman is now nearly as far from control 1 as she started, and still running away from it looking for a path junction to relocate on. She won't have the worst split for the control by a long way.
If you ever emerge from this first section there's a slightly easier middle section, and then a 1 kilometre thrash down a spur to get to the event arena which someone inconveniently put too far away from the nice bit of the map.
I'm guessing that 15th place may be quite a long way down on the winners today.

30 mins in and Nataliya Dimitrova is still searching for the 1st control. I feel for her.
Looks like all the girls are through - Tess fortunate that there were a lot of slow runs in her heat.
